Über Libertarian Wayne Root Shoots Holes In Obamacare

Wayne Allyn Root, Author of The Conscience of a Libertarian, talks with Neil Cavuto of Fox News calling for tort reform to fix healthcare as opposed to government run healthcare. Neil calls him mean. Is that fair, unfair or tongue in cheek? Wayne brings up good points than cost the taxpayer nothing, and take the power away from the lawyers I mean politicians. Same thing. Anyway, enjoy. It's refreshing to see a real libertarian on TV or anywhere else.

Woman Tired Of Seeing Obama, Sells TVs

78 year old Deloris Nissen of Carroll Iowa got tired of seeing Obama on TV so she sold both her TVs. Sounds reasonable. The 4th estate has become the 4th branch of government and Obama's personal and professional PR firm. Good for Mrs. Nissen. I wonder if she is related to Judy?

The Newest Turncoat and Member Of The Democrat Party

The Finocchio and Sfacime from South Carolina has, one more time, proven himself to be a turncoat in tough times. Shown here is Chuckie Cheese Schumer with his new protege. When will the party of Lincoln divest itself of it's dead wood and rotting corpses? South Carolina produces some real political asses.

The Fight For State Sovereignty: Nebraska is next

Nebraskan Legislators want to pass a resolution that asserts Nebraska's state sovereignty. The State Sovereignty Movement is an effort by the states to push back on an over reaching, overbearing and moreover a socialist government that is continually trying to control more and more of people's lives and direct what states can and cannot do. We have not seen such vigor since the first Civil War. I wish Iowa legislators would do such, but Governor Granstahl and his lackeys are too busy licking the hand from Washington that feeds them. It's 1857 boys, and the day is coming should the Mountebank in Chief continue on his socialist way.

RHETORIC V. REALITY: HEALTH CARE BY ORWELL

RHETORIC V. REALITY: HEALTH CARE BY ORWELL

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published in the New York Post on July 23, 2009

President Obama's rhetoric last night summoned the memory of "1984," George Orwell's novel of a nightmarish future -- where the slogan of the rulers is "War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength."

The president assures us that he will cut health-care spending...by adding $1 trillion to health-care spending.

He says that "health-care decisions will not be made by government"...while he sets up a new Federal Health Board to tell doctors what treatments they can offer and to whom and under what circumstances.

Obama told the media, "I will free doctors to make good health-care decisions"...by telling the physicians what to do.

When the president says he guarantees the "same coverage" to people who like their current health-insurance policies, he means that their current HMOs, insurers and doctors will be the ones to implement the protocols and instructions the government hands down to them -- not that we'll have our current freedom of decision-making.

When he blandly assures us that we will "stop paying for things that don't make us healthier," he really means that his Federal Health Board will overrule your doctor and stop him from using his own best judgment in your treatment.

The president will "get the politics out of health care" by putting it under government control.

Obama says that he will not "add to the deficit" to fund health care. But the bill reported out by Rep. Charlie Rangel's Ways and Means Committee leaves $550 billion unfunded.

The president says that he'll identify savings that will reduce the need for more taxes -- even though the Congressional Budget Office refuses to say that his "savings" will actually work and warns that the bill will really be added to the deficit.

He repeatedly tells us that he'll cut health-care spending. What he means is that he will cut doctors' incomes and will turn down patients -- particularly the elderly -- when they seek medical care that his bureaucrats disapprove of.

And he ignores that cutting incomes in the medical field will reduce the number of doctors and force further rationing of care.

The president opines that he will replace the most "expensive care" with the "best care" by empowering government officials who have never met you to substitute their judgment for that of your doctor, who has examined you thoroughly.

When Obama laments that "14,000 people lose their insurance every day," he is referring to the job losses that his own failed efforts to end the recession have permitted.

He warns that health-care costs are gobbling up money that employers should use to raise wages and worker pay -- yet the plans he backs would require employers to pay 8 percent of their payroll as a tax or provide insurance to their workers.

The Obama plan highlights greater preventive care -- but, at the same time, cuts medical incomes and so will cut the number of doctors who might provide it.

The stimulus package, in the Gospel According to Barack, was "designed" to work over the next two years. But at the time, he demanded immediate passage to "jump-start the economy" -- something that clearly did not happen.

Medicare and Medicaid are "driving the deficit" even as he increased the amount of red ink by at least $800 billion in six months with little, if any, increase in the cost of either program.

He says he "expects" banks to repay their TARP money. In fact, they're lining up around the block to do so -- but the Treasury will only permit a handful of them to do so.

In summary, Obama's health program will promote "lower cost and more choice" by increasing spending by $1 trillion, telling patients what care they're permitted to have, and limiting their access to quality care.

Orwell's heirs should sue for violation of copyright.

Dick Morris say it better than most here. Thanks Dick, Eileen and...

In Minnesota, Go For a Swim, Get Capped By A Cop

A plain clothes sheriff's deputy shot an unarmed man who was returning from a swim. According to witnesses, Deputy Todd Waldron just freaked out. May be it's all those hours he works, as he's also a part time officer at Gustavus College. May be he's just nuts. Whatever the case, he shot someone dead who was unarmed, and he didn't identify himself as an officer. Tyler Heilman was shot while getting up with his hands up, after he realized Todd Waldron was cop because of the badge on his belt. Of course now we'll see the police going back to Tyler's kindergarten records to show what a criminal he was...

You may notice of late I have been a little hard on cops. I want to tell you my grandfather and uncle were cops (A different breed from today's officers) and I dated a NYC for several years. I don't have anything in particular against them, but considering the position they have, I think we need to hold them to a higher standard.

I also think that cops can be tools for politicians to raise money and enforce a politician's will. What probably irks me is the lack of critical thinking and independence on the part of officers when confronted with having to do ridiculous things (quotas and other non-sense). I also have a boner for cops that excuse poor behavior in other cops or even cover it up. My message to the boys in blue is, it's not you versus us at all. You work for us, we give you the authority you have. Respect that, and the fact that most of us are just trying to get along, and not everyone is breaking some law somewhere. If you have fellow officers who are like bored Pit Bulls, get rid of them. Cops should be like Labrador Retrievers.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

That's Some Expensive Pork

How much for sliced ham? I guess it's pay back time for supporting Obama, but jeez, if they want ham, it's a lot cheaper in Iowa, or may be he could just send Michelle. This mountebank is bankrupting us for non-sense. 2 mill for a ham? They've hanged people for a lot less.

Iowa Newspaper Decries Money Spent On Protecting Our Children From pedophiles

The Des Moines Register decries money spent on monitoring pedophiles. The cost is projected at $168 million over 20 years. I doubt it is this much, but then again, this paper is the mid-west version of Pravda, in which they support every cockamamie progressivist socialist agenda to come down the pipe. To characterize this paper as pro-pedophile, anti-life, pro-gay agenda, pro-socialist is not a stretch. I would also add willing member of the fourth branch of government. Can you say pro-democrat or Pro-Obama? I have never seen a local paper so disparate from the views of it's supporting population, but then again it's losing money and subscribers faster than Michael Jackson lost hair filming a pepsi commercial.

Send In The Riot Police: Apparently in England, it's against the law to have a birthday party

Andrew Poole was putting another banger on he barbie when the police came in riot gear with a helicopter overhead. It was his 30th birthday with 15 relatives. For some reason they thought it ws a rave party. Even so, the response is so disproportionate, you have to wonder if the brits have lost all sense. Still, it Andrew was Mohammed having an Al Qeda gathering, you can be sure the government would have sent their regards and consent. May be one of Andrew's guests was Pat Condell. May be all Andrew and his guests needed to do was don burkhas. I wonder if the Obamaführer is taking notes? A better question is, when is the damn Queen going to stand up and say enough of this shit or we'll be back to an absolute monarchy? Obviously the English people aren't going to do anything as they think this is ok, along with all the other pro islam non-sense (it may seem like a non-sequitur, but it isn't).

Mary Jo And The Swimmer

It's been 40 years since The Swimmer left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in his car. I wonder if The Swimmer thinks about it much. Ted Kennedy getting away with murder is just another case of Kennedy money buying a result, just like the 1960 elections to William Kennedy Smith (He looks a lot like Sean Hannity, no?). Anyway, The Swimmer will be going to place she did not.

Missouri car dealer Max Motors in Butler gives away a voucher for an AK-47 with every truck purchase. I think GM and Chrysler could learn something from this. I wonder if Mark Muller is on the State's list of terrorists?

More Doughnut Taxers, This Time From Texas: Even if the speed limit sign is wrong, so still are you

From John R. Lotts Blog:

When is a speed trap not a speed trap?

The Texas Department of Transportation has a little mess on its hands. This is a small stretch of highway where the wrong speed limit was posted. Apparently, one sign along the route had a different speed limit posted.

TXDOT knew it was wrong. In June 2008, they put the wrong sign up. The 40mph sign should be 50mph sign. TXDOT told crews to fix it in August, but even with the help of photos and fancy word balloons, the road crew couldn't figure it out.

It was still there, still wrong, when this ticket was written in May 2009, over 10 months later. While TXDOT apologizes, they say their mistake doesn't really matter.

"Whatever the speed limit is posted is what drivers should follow. Even if it's wrong," said Baker.

Wow. I wasn't really sure if I got that, so I asked again and sure enough TXDOT says even if they get it wrong, twice, they aren't really wrong.

"The speed limit is what is posted along the roadway. It doesn't matter if it's the correct speed limit or incorrect speed limit," said Baker.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office agrees with TXDOT that, wrong sign or not, the cops are right.

"Those officers on the street go by what is posted," said Lt. Dan Norris of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Not to be deterred, Gadus unearthed records showing at least 600 tickets were written in the area of the wrong sign, maybe as many as 1500. For Gadus, a 30-year veteran cop by the way, that's way too many. Unless officers had a sinister motive.

"It looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a speed trap," said Gadus.

When asked about a possible speed trap, Lt. Norris replied, "No, not at all."

For all his work, a judge recently dismissed Gadus' wife's ticket. Now he's worried about the hundreds of other people who got tickets in the same place, but paid the fine because they never saw what he saw. . . .

Fascist Washington DC Police Chief Calls Ticket Avoiders Cowards

The Fascist Cathy Lanier said people who use their iPhones to track check points, radar traps and traffic cameras: "the technology is a "cowardly tactic" and "people who overly rely on those and break the law anyway are going to get caught" in one way or another".

Of course this is the same dim wit that opposes the second amendment and this is the same police force that took 7+ years to find the alleged killer of Chandra Levy.

How about people are tired of paying your oppressive doughnut tax, Cathy? It's an educated public trying to adapt to negative market forces. Speed traps and the such are really ways to generate income. So what quotas do you issue to your officers? May be it is something in the drinking water, or the proximity to all the power robbing and self-serving politicians in the capital as Baltimore Police like to arrest people for asking directions. Is Natalie Preston your protegé?

Army Major Refusing Deployment Over Obama's Citizen Status

Army Major refusing deployment over Obama's ineligibility to serve as Commander

Claims Obama is foreign born and not a legal Citizen of the United States

Co-posted by Eric Dondero at the Libertarian Republican:

Breaking news item... Major Stefan Frederick Cook, US Army, is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan. But he is refusing, citing Barack Hussein Obama's ineligibility to serve as Commander in Chief. Cook believes that Obama is foreign born, and thus excluded from serving in the office of the Presidency.

From the Ft. Benning, Georgia Ledger-Bulletin, July 14:

Cook’s lawyer, Orly Taitz, who has also challenged the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency in other courts, filed a request last week in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and status as a conscientious objector for her client.

In the 20-page document — filed July 8 with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia — the California-based Taitz asks the court to consider granting his client’s request based upon Cook’s belief that Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Cook further states he “would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President’s command. ... simultaneously subjecting himself to possible prosecution as a war criminal by the faithful execution of these duties.”

The Libertarian Republican Reports on New Efforts By Congress to Get To The Bottom Of Obama's Eligibility

From the Libertarian Republican:

Blackburn, Campbell & Culberson now co-sponsors

by Eric Dondero

While it may be too late to revoke Barack Hussein Obama's hold on the Presidency, it is not too late to make the issue of his birth outside of the United States, most likely in Kenya, an issue for Campaign 2012.

With that in mind, a coalition of conservatives and libertarians around the Nation are pushing for the enactment of HR 1503, introduced by freshman Republican Congressman of Florida Bill Posey. The legislation would require proof of birth in the United States of America or its Territories to run for the office of the Presidency. This shall take the form of a valid hospital-issued birth certificate, and not just a receipt for such a certificate as Obama has released.

The legislation got off to a slow start. It was introduced back in March of this year. And only Rep. Bill Goodlatte (R) of Virginia, agreed to sign on as a co-sponsor. Then a few weeks ago, Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, came on board. Within the last two weeks, 5 Republican Congressmen have signed on. Besides the 3 mentioned, co-sponsors include: Reps. Marsha Blackburn (TN), John Carter (TX), John Culberson (TX), Ted Poe (TX), and Dan Burton (IN). Notably, Burton and Blackburn are considered leaders of the GOP House Caucus.

Of note, on the Senate side, the Hon. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma has gone on record in support of such legislation in that body.

There are some notable Representatives who have yet to sign on, including some libertarian Republicans. It would also be nice to have a principled and honest Democrat or two as co-sponsors.

Please take a moment to contact your Representatives by email, phone or letter to urge them to support HR 1503. Just tell them it's the "Posey Bill" requiring a birth certificate for Presidential eligibility.

It may be too late to do anything about Obama's 2008 election, but not too late to make this an issue for 2012.

Contact your Congressman website.

I hope you married her...

Can The Talking Points Be Wrong?

There must be hope for Iowa with Harlan Muth show here with a Palin 2012 sign in his car. Contrary to the talking points being bandied about on blogs such as the Libertarian Republican, some people think Palin is still in the mix. While I found Palin's press conference a little confusing and not forthwith, I can't see the Sears Mannequin as the right substitute in 2012.

Big Brother Got It's Start In Iowa

Big brother got it's start in Iowa. Yeah, that is correct. In the land of corn fields, sunshine and "mid-western values". The University of Iowa is developing and testing a system that uses GPS to track your car's travels so as to tax you. Of course they say this will replace the gas tax, but you know this is bullshit. On top of this and more importantly are the privacy issues. This is a big authoritarian rights grab by the government to keep people under their thumb. Just one more instance of big government gone awry in the name of improvements through technology. I am sure my "fellow" Iowans will say, "it's for the kids", "it's for the greater good", and as so long as the corn whores get their hand out from the government and grassley and company keep it coming in, the sheeple in Iowa will bend over with a smile. I am sure Harkin and/or Grassley made sure the U of I got their grant for this. Anything for a vote. How much you want to bet that we'll have a mileage tax and a gas tax?
