This is short and sweet:
My 15 year old daughter received roses for Valentine's Day and my wife commented on how expensive they must have been. My 8 year old daughter, Evelyn, said of course they are expensive, the florist will charge more because it's Valentine's Day. Out of the mouth's of babes and smarter than the chipmunk in chief, an 8 year old understands capitalism, while our president does not.

I used to believe that as human individuals, we are born into this world with natural rights that are inviolate: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Property or Happiness. Now we’re on the downhill slide after reelecting a malignant and grandiose narcissist who will run this country into the ground. The folks who used to be conservatives that I knew have gone full-on fascist, appealing to their own unqualified biases and fears, and put us on the road to destruction.

ReplyDeleteWonderful! It's amazing how much common sense children have about things adults can't seem to grasp. Good to see she has the smarts to show off like that! Don't know if you remember me... I've been away from my blog and all political blogs for some time. The last couple of years sort of put me into a slump and every time I went to write about something, it was to complain and it drug me down so far I had to just let it go a bit. We'll see if I can get back into it or not... I mainly write for myself now (poetry and the like) on a different blog. Hope all is well with you!!
