Even Though Ted Is Dead, Kennedy's Still Drinking Like Fish

In what seems to be De Rigueur for the Kennedy clan, Robert F. Kennedy's wife has been arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Mary Richardson Kennedy, the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is scheduled to reappear in Bedford town court in July after she pleaded not guilty Thursday night to a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
Kennedy, 50, was arraigned in town court after she was arrested on May 15 for allegedly driving drunk at the intersection of Route 22 and Greenwich Road. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 15.

"We hope there will be a resolution to the case at the next court date," said Kerry Lawrence, Kennedy's attorney.

Kennedy declined to speak with reporters after the arraignment.

In other words, the Kennedy's need time to get the fix in. I guess it's also standard practice to plead not guilty, and it's her right, but the Kennedy's have a long history of miraculously getting out of such jams through means that would probably make Al Capone blush.

From the Chappaqua-MtKiscopatch

Kennedy was arrested a short distance from her home in Bedford at about 9 p.m.after Bedford police Officer Andrew Klein saw her Volvo drive onto the curb of the St. Patrick's School driveway. She had no passengers in the car at the time of the incident.

Kennedy allegedly told Klein, who was directing traffic for the school's carnival, that she was there to pick up people. It's still not clear who she was planning to pick up.

Klein asked Kennedy to take a field sobriety test after he noticed that her speech was slurred and he smelled alcohol in the car.

Kennedy failed the field sobriety test and was given a breathalyzer test, which showed that she had a blood alcohol content of .11. She was taken into police custody, processed and released on her recognizance. Her car was towed away from the scene.

How much do you want to bet she gets off with a seat belt violation?  We have seen these scenarios before with a plethora of Kennedy's: Michael Skakel, Patrick Kennedy, William Kennedy Smith, and Der Swimmer himself.

The stink of privilege from progeny of bootleggers and mountebanks needs to come to an end. Anyone taking bets on this one? At east she had safety in mind: She was driving a Volvo.

Another Democrat Won't Seek Reelection, Another Opportunity For the GOP

Patrick Kennedy won't be seeking reelection and this presents itself with an interesting opportunity for the GOP. Can they make it two for two? Scott Brown won The Swimmer's seat last month, will Mr. Potato Head get his act in gear for this? By Brown's own admission, the GOP was of little help. Still, there is hope in Rhode Island that the republicans can win yet another seat that had been considered a lock for the dems. First New Jersey and Virginia, then Massachusetts, Today is a good day for America. Who's next? A Kennedy-less congress is also something to celebrate. Have a Sam Adams Ale on me.

The Catholic Church Finally Takes a Stand

Have the Kennedy's lost their touch?

Bishop Tobin of the Providence Diocese has told Patrick Kennedy he cannot receive communion because of his stance on abortion. The bishop has also instructed the priests in the diocese not to give Kennedy communion.

While some may not see the relevance, but to a catholic it it is heartening to see the Church put it's money where it's mouth is. The Church has looked the other way too long with parishioners, often famous and infamous, have violated not only church doctrine, but human decency with and by their actions. The Kennedy's have often been the beneficiaries of such hypocritical largesse and I am glad to see it come to an end. So, when will Pelosi get the treatment? Can you think of others?
