I published this two and half years ago. I guess I was right. I hope the people that Lance tore down to protect his assets will sue his ass off for defamation. Here is a guy that was in it all for himself and now the house of cards falls apart. He's a liar and he got caught because the truth was stronger than the lie.
The termites are coming out of the woodwork, they are angry and they want to take Pinocchio down. In this case, the termites are Lance Armstrong, USA Cycling, International Cycling and the plethora of others that are the co-dependent delusional enablers to lying, cheating, and otherwise rectal-cranial inversion. Pinocchio is Floyd Landis.
I'll be clear here. I don't care so much if someone uses steroids of not. A person still has to work hard to get to that level. What I am against is the intellectual dishonesty that goes on in all sports where steroids are used and some forms of entertainment like Professional Wrestling. As with body building, there is no way someone 5'8-5'10 can weigh 300lbs, with single digit body fat and claim they are natural and any sane person should believe them. They are liars. They also help sell a lot of supplements that don't do a damn thing or don't produce the result that people are led to believe. It's about the money.
With Lance and Company, he too has a lot of endorsements and money at stake. Being honest will cost him, just as honesty cost Tiger Woods. It doesn't mean that some how they were entrapped or someone's trying to tarnish them. They do this to themselves and can blame no one else but themselves. In Landon's case, he is not blaming Armstrong, but revealing what is going on. Tough shit Lance.
What I would challenge all in sports that use performance enhancing drugs, is that if these drugs work, and by all measures they do, then why not come out and champion their use? Why not educate the public? Is sneaking around and cheating not to be discovered so honorable? Many people look up to all of you and you should and will be held to a higher standard. That higher standard calls for honesty and if taking these drugs is what it takes, then educate the public, and I would bet things would change for the better.
The flip side is that coming clean will also mean, other then the penalties that may arise, that they will have to compete clean or find impossible ways to cover their tracks. May be they won't be able to dope as effectively and in either case, their performance will go down, and with it, in their mind, their competitiveness. Again, it it works, if it is necessary, then sell us on it, educate us.
Unfortunately, sports athletes are feckless in that pursuit and don't even try. The only guy I have read that comes close is Will Brink, and he is a fitness guru, not a professional athlete.
What I find more despicable though, are the termites that come out to defend the obviously guilty, like a co-dependent enabling parent does when her baby gets arrested. Not my baby, he was a good boy. he just like to drink a little...Etc. Enough. It's time for athletes to come clean about this, even at their peril. In fact, if all of them did, it would be such a number that they couldn't penalize them all as the sport would cease to exist.
So does Landis deserve the brick bats he is getting? He did it, so he will take the heat. Unfortunately, Lance and Company don't have the stones he does. Instead they hide behind naive fans that do not want to believe the truth. It's time to grow up. Livehonest.
Thank you for reading this blog.
It is my belief that as human individuals, we are born into this world with natural rights that are inviolate; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Property or Happiness which has been expressed eloquently by Thomas Jefferson. Anything less puts us in the status of slaves, indentured servants and farm animals. My impetus for this blog is to serve as the clarion call to others, like minded or not, that our freedom is at stake in a world of increasing collectivism.

Is that real, or Photoshop? What a metaphor.
Photoshop I suppose.
I am still waiting for Livehonest.
I just want to get whatever he was on. I don't mind being banned from whatever or losing all my endorsement deals.
He was doing blood transfusions and EPO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythropoietin
It helps with endurance. I have to wonder if he took growth hormone and steroids. Both will cause cancer to run rampant and metastasize. In our at any costs society, he'll be forgiven, which is emblematic of our disfunction. What many people forget is how he destroyed people that he felt threatened by and basically did it to protect his lie. Anything built on a lie is bad IMO, even livestrong. In the end, it was all about him.
I think we're in a shitty phase of sports history. Lance Armstrong did what he did, but so did everyone else.
As a father, it sucks, because anyone who says athletes aren't role models is either a faggot or a man without sons. Play is life. We do games. It's what we are as a species. Were this not true, sports and cooking would enjoy equal market share. My 100 pound, beautiful 6 year old prodigy has a favorite morning television show. Sports Center. Did I choose it? No. He did. He loves competitive play. He wins. That steers his preferences methinks.
Vanity.
My derision isn't pointed at the idea that we are too sports oriented, although I think we do carry it too far in some circumstances, it's an attack on the actions of someone where they tried to cover up a lie to protect themselves and in the process, they defamed and damaged the reputations of others to protect the lie. It really is heinous.
When hypocrisy is on parade, it's expected that you lie. Armstrong did what everyone else did...and he beat them. He was still the best.
The whole thing is a fucking farce. Drugs didn't win 7 tours. Armstrong did. If you're surrounded by people going to extraordinary measures to win, are you going to let them?
It's a ridiculous standard. I feel the same way about what's going on in baseball. All these guys get out of those "banned substances" is the ability to heal quickly. The muscle gain is a byproduct, but no one can play baseball better because they're taking some goddam nutritional supplement.
I wonder if they test golfers.
I disagree on a couple things. What you are saying if everyone does it, even if it's wrong, it's ok. Two, Barry Bonds didn't start hitting the long ball until he bulked up from 180 to 230. It does help some people. It's not to say there's not talent, but it helps. Some people have natural talent, lets say Mickey Mantle. The fucker was an alcoholic and didn't take care of himself, yet he could hit the ball, which wasn't as lively as it is now, almost 700'. That's talent. Look at him now and then the way he was. All I ask for is intellectual if not plain honesty. Lastly, lance or whoever can do what they like, but when you go after others to protect the lie, then they should be shitcanned.
I don't think the stuff should be banned. That's all. Before Lance Armstrong, nobody gave a shit about bicycle riders. He certainly knew he was violating rules, but so was everyone else. When everyone is doing it, you have to expect that everyone is going to have to play along. Otherwise, why fucking bother showing up?
I can see both sides of this is all I'm saying.
I agree. What's even more farcical is bodybuilding. You'll see guys 5'8-5'10 and 300lbs claim they are natural. Even forest gump could see the insanity in that.
4 words.
Banned Deer Antler Spray.
If you eat a fucking deer antler, you're cheating at football.
The cunts have taken over.
Chuck, don't you pity the deer? Anyway, it's rubbish. We know what works and what doesn't. It's the same old row Heinlein talked about. There are two types of people in the world, those that want people controlled and those that do not.
Deer don't suffer when they drop antlers every winter. I'm sure they're farm raised, though, since finding drops in the woods before the squirrels eat them all is a rarity.
Farm raised deer have it pretty damn good.
I was being sarcastic. You can find plenty of antlers if you know when to look for them, especially in Iowa where deer look like they have a rocking chair on their heads. :)
