I have to admit it. I was on the Islam is to blame train with the Oslo Bombing and Shootings. Shit, I was on the phone with Eric at Libertarian Republican before the news was spread very far and he hadn't heard of it yet. The first thought in my mind was, it was the fucking muslims. I mean they do have a pretty strong history for these things. Instead, we find out that it was a blond haired, blued eyed, crazier than a bag of squirrels cock-sucking son of a bitch. His point of view might be understandable, I mean muslims have immigrated into Europe in such numbers that things are changing for the natives there. Instead of looking for political solutions like a Geert Wilders, he decided to take matters into his own hands. No, he didn't blow up or shoot the muslims, who he hated. He went out and made a bomb with over 13,000 lbs of fertilizer (the Norwegian government was alerted to this) and detonated it in front of the building where the Prime Minister's office is, killing at least 7 people there and went to an Island where he gunned down scores of people killing at least 86. What is even more ironic is that he belonged to a political party called the progress party, which opposed the muslim immigration policies (if you want things back the way they were in the past, how is that progress? Just saying. ) of the Labor Party. He was also a Mason and part of some group called the Knights Templar. I feel sorry for the Masons after this fiasco.

So, instead of some imam in lockup, we have a modern day version of a hitler youth turned mad. What will the Norwegians do? Will this guy get executed? I hope so, and quickly too. Terrorism should be tolerated by any society, although it has in Europe with the likes of the IRA, but that is another story, for another time. Europeans have been way too tolerant of islamists as well. Even the Archbishop of Canterbury says that we might as well give up, as sharia and islam will be "unavoidable".  Still, what to do about it? For one thing, stop being saps and breaking your backs bending over backwards for people that don't respect you. Two, it's time to say enough and put an end to the open immigration policies and put some sanity to whom is allowed in and who isn't. Even though my ancestors came from some of these European countries, I would have a harder time gaining entry for the purpose of citizenship than if I was from Pakistan or the Sudan. That's fucking retarded.

In the end, the Europeans need to start believing their culture is better than anyone else's. Right now they have a moral equivalence about themselves that every culture is equivalent and therefore equal. They aren't. This quest for some sort of egalitarian mantle will only bring about their own demise and furthermore, the people they are trying to please won't give a hoot and will take advantage of their "good will". Basically, the Europeans are naive. They are to blame for this too. Because of their lack of backbone, lack of conviction in who they are, their lack of understanding what is, has allowed a mental case like Anders Breivik to come about. Monsters are a creation of their environment and this guys wasn't dropped in Norway by little green people. No, he's a home grown nut job and he won't be the last.

Don't Ask Do Tell

This week's Libertarian Politics Live covered Don't Ask Don't Tell and specifically dealt with the question of should gays serve openly in the military. The Guests were Bob Marshall and Rick Sincere, but the biggest shocker was Eric Dondero, the founder and owner of LPL, going off about the subject, possibly in a way you would not have imagined, but more on that later.

I suggest that you listen to the show in its entirety from the link above, but I will give you the really short version. Bob Marshall was the christian conservative using a priori reasoning to basically justify his position of being against gays in the military without having to say it was based on conservative christian values. Bob Sincere was on the other end of the spectrum, saying gays should be able to serve openly, that they already serve with distinction and nothing will change if they do serve openly. Eric served  as the hysterical white male that thinks the military will be turned into effete latte sipping cacasotti if gays are allowed to openly serve, because all the real men will leave.

The point is moot now that the congress has acted and passed legislation allowing gays to serve openly. That said, I will give you my points as I couldn't get a word in edgewise during the show.

Prior to the new law, the federal government prohibited discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, genetic information, or age. Further, denying employment opportunities to a person because of marriage to, or association with, an individual of a particular race, religion, national origin, or an individual with a disability is also prohibited. Title VII also prohibits discrimination because of participation in schools or places of worship associated with a particular racial, ethnic, or religious group.

So, in effect, the military was in their right not to let gays serve openly or at all, regardless of the political backlash. That said, Mr Marshall and Dondero had weak cases.

Mr Marshall's case revolved around the increased cost of healthcare for the military if gays served openly. It also revolved around the premise that if they are allowed, most of the straight military will not re-enlist. I would think it's specious to assume that the military's healthcare costs will increase because gays serve openly. What I think he assumes is that if they serve openly, they will have sex and if they do not serve openly, they will not. The implication is that if gays have sex, they will get HIV, which leads to AIDS. May be part of his thinking process is that the repeal of DADT will somehow cause a population explosion  of gays in the military. I guess we'll see if he is right on that one, but I would tell him that gays in the military are having sex, whether or not DADT exists and the risks of contracting HIV are equally there if they serve openly or not.

As far as straights not re-enlisting, well, that also remains to be seen. As someone from the largest city in America, I have had to work and go to school with people of all stripes, colors, orientations and background. As long as the situation is focused on the work at hand, it never mattered and it never did. I don't care what someone's sexual orientation is, what race they are, where they were born, what language they speak, how old they are or whatever, I will treat them with the same basic respect. Judge the content of someone's character...Anyway, it's a big world out there and if someone won't serve with someone that is openly gay, then may be good riddance. I bet the position will be filled with someone that is superior anyway.

As to Eric's argument, his was based on his own experiences in the Navy in the 1980's. He regaled, with incredible emotion and vitriole, his experiences aboard ship with gay shipmates. The case in particular was about a gay shipmate that came back drunk from leave and proceded to give oral sex to another shipmate whilst he was asleep. The sailor awakened to this and according to Eric, charges were never brought up, as the Navy was PC even back then. Eric further asserted that he could not ogle female sailors in the shower, so why do they have to allow gays as he would feel uncomfortable and what would his wife think.

Well, if a gay male sailor is ogling another sailor and making advances, it is harassment and should be dealt with accordingly. It doesn't matter what the combinations of sexual orientation are. Equal rights demand equal responsibilities and those that cross the line should be held accountable, always. If they aren't, having DADT doesn't solve the problem. It'll happen anyway and I will say, that Eric knew this sailor was gay before his illicit act, so he can't plead that ignorance or abstinence would have improved the situation. It happened. I would also add that to hear Eric go off, the thought crossed my mind if Eric was in fact the sailor that got the blow job. Did he finish Eric? :) Me thinks the blogger protests too much. I would also wonder how Eric's wife feels about him bragging on the same show that he's screw any woman or may be it was any good looking one. Between that and his insistence that the military was for men to be manly and virile, I have to again, wonder what his deal is. The military is our defense as well as the strong arm of our foreign policy. The military trains to break shit, blow things up and kill people. They also can provide logistical and support services, like they did in Haiti. If that defines what a man is, I guess so. I think Eric's definition of what a soldier is, is a little two dimensional. The military today is a volunteer one and a professional one. They are the best of the best, gay or not, and they do their jobs well. Being gay should be the least of their problems. Also, women serve in the military. Are all of them manly and virile too?

The heart of the problem for me is to preemptively tell someone that they will be punished or sanctioned before a bad behavior is committed. It presumes guilt, that if they serve openly, they will do behaviors that are unlawful, yet not adjudicatable in Eric and Bob's mind. If that is their worry, then pursue justice on a case by case basis when people do cross the line. The question,  should gays serve openly or not is specious. Do straight people have a litmus test? None of it should matter. What I will tell Rick Sincere is although I find Bob and Eric's arguments specious and a priori, I also do not believe in special privileges or special rights. My point is that it doesn't matter, it shouldn't matter. No agendas, no superior rights for anyone. The trick is, is that good enough for both sides of the issue? The problem with groups, tribes and mobs, is that they always want to be right, they want a leg up and to have the upper hand. Like Rand, I don't particularly like the mob at all and often it uses it's coercive force on individuals in spite of the facts, in spite of the truth, in spite of what's rational, in order to preserve or achieve power. Rand said "The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities." Of course I must add that Rand also thought homosexuality is a mental disorder, but that is another story. I also expect to get challenged as some would say there is wisdom in the mob. Well, which one? Who chooses? Coercive forces are just that, not reason. Jefferson said that "rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others." This is the true test of what is right, decent and good, not an antediluvian mob.

“I understand that the NAACP, at its annual conference in Kansas City, will vote today on a resolution condemning the Tea Party movement as “racist”. I believe that the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference.”

“As I campaign in South Carolina, I participate in numerous events sponsored by the Tea Party, 9/12, Patriot, and other like-minded groups, and I have had the opportunity to get to know many of the men and women who make up these energetic grassroots organizations. Americans need to know that the Tea Party is a color-blind movement that has principled differences with many of the leaders in Washington, both Democrats and Republicans. Their aim is to support the strongest candidates – regardless of color or background – who will fight to return our country to its Constitutional roots of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.”

Neglects to link to the Show

Sheer idiocy. That's the only way to describe this brief hit piece by the Washington Post on Sharron Angle, as a result of our interview with her the other night on "Libertarian Politics Live."

In an interview with Hot Air's Ed Morrissey, Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle firmly denies being a "birther," a term used to describe those who believe that President Obama was not born in the United States. Morrissey reports:

Earlier today, I spoke exclusively to Sharron Angle, the Republican nominee to challenge Harry Reid for the Senate seat in Nevada. In the past few days, rumors have swirled that Angle is a crypto-Birther. I asked her "flat out" whether she believed Barack Obama was born somewhere other than Hawaii, and she replied, "No. Is that flat-out enough for you?"
This is in stark contrast to remarks Angle made Thursday night in an interview on the radio show Libertarian Politics Live. During the interview, Angle was asked, point-blank, if she believed the president was "a legitimate president or a naturalized born citizen." Angle replied saying, "You know I think our Supreme Court has pretty much made that decision." An Angle spokesman denied that Angle was a birther or had ducked the question.

Angle's response also serves to rebut earlier reports that the endorsement of her campaign by the Declaration Alliance could serve as proof that she was among the birthers' ranks. A search for the endorsement on Angle's website turns up cached results but no active pages.

Talk about a stretch. Saying that she is a Birther because she didn't come right out immediately and say that she believes Obama was born in the U.S.

And sorry, we're not linking to this Washington Post article. WaPo did not bother to link to Libertarian Republican in their story, nor directly to our show on Blog Talk.

Chris Christie Sticks To His Guns: Absolutely No New Taxes!

6 months in office and already a stunning success

Americans have expressed time and time again that they want a politician who actually does what he says, and means what he says. That's Chris Christie.

WCBS TV via Drudge:

"We're very confident we've been able to close the additional budget gap in (fiscal year) 2010 and in (fiscal year) 2011 we're going to be able to solve that problem without any new taxes at all and without any real significant cuts," Christie said.

"We're not raising taxes, Marcia. That's it. It's not happening," Christie said.

Reporter Marcia Kramer gives some background:

Skipping the "fiscalese," what happened was the budget freeze imposed by Gov. Christie when he took office generated more savings than expected, enough to cover much of the lost tax money.

Kramer declares in the intro: "Remember Christie's budget freeze... looks like it worked."

So, what's keeping other governors from copying the Christie model? We already know Democrats like David Paterson of NY, Pat Quinn of Illinois, Ted Stickland of Ohio, Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, et.al. are wedded to big government policies and tied to the hip of the Teachers Unions and SEIU which prevents any meaninful reforms. But what's the excuse of Republicans like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and even Georgia's Sonny Purdue?

Future Republican governors take note: Chris Christie is now the model for excellence in governing. He has set the standard. Follow it!

North Korea Found to Be Responsible For Sinking: Could Oil Rig Be That Far Off?

Reported in the news, South Korea alleges that North Korea sunk the boat with a torpedo. Shown on CNN, are fragments of said torpedo.     While the non-interventionists take the side of North Korea and call the evidence fake, the South Koreans and the US plan naval exercises and both call for the cessession of trade with North Korea. 

 Earlier this month we published an article here and on Libertarian Republican from Michael Savage's website that proposed that the North Koreans torpedoed the Deepwater Horizon Oil Platform in the gulf. We did publish a disclaimer that these views were not necessarily the views of The Right Guy Show and Libertarian Republican. I stated in my own opinion that occam's razor applies.

Then I got an email from Eric this week saying may be the North Korean's involvement wasn't too far fetched:

"Ya know, with confirmation that it was North Korea that sunk that South Korean ship, suddenly the N. Korea theory on BP isn't so far-fetched.  Care to do a follow-up?  I'm surprised I'm not seeing anyone now suggesting this"

You know Eric, you have a point. So just to stir up the pot, does anyone want to jump in on this again? Is it still a far fetched conspiracy theory or plausible now?

My own opinion is that occam's razor applies, meaning that the simplest and most reasonable explanation  is the right one, which is it just blew up. But you have to admit that this whole oil rig disaster has been a morbid comedy of errors where Obama now makes Bush look like an overbearing mother with his response to Katrina. It is a far comparison and Obama has failed miserably. Much worse than Bush ever has and with a 42% approval rating in less than a year and a half, he's heading down very quickly. 

So there you have it, or do you? With all the tensions with North Korea, would they be so bold? Tensions seems to be building in a post-Bush Obama world, with Israel on maneuvers, ratcheting it up with Iran, who with Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is making nuclear deals with other mideast countries, North Korea sinking a South Korean Navy vessel, and now with South Korea and the US stopping all trade with NK and NK threatening war if anyone retaliates? We also have the continuing mess and morass in Afghanistan and even though Iraq is now secured, we still have bombings and violence. Will these seem like separate, isolated instances, there seems to be a synchronicity to it that may be it's not completely random. I wonder what Occam would think?

The Left's Worst Nightmare: Faisal Shahzad is a Muslim, an Immigrant and most of all a Democrat

Militant Pakistani, not a White Male Tea Partier, and in fact, voted for Obama

Oh how things have changed so dramatically in this 24 hour news cycle of ours. Yesterday, the Right was on the defensive, fearing that indeed the Terrorist in New York would turn out to be some crazed Militia type, or Tea Party supporter. NPR led off their news report, "Top suspect a White Male..."

As Sister Toldjah describes below, some of the usual leftwing suspects, chimed in with the same talking points:

This is great news, and I hope the Feds have indeed got “their guy,” and I also hope that he leads them to other Islamofascist terrorists who were involved in this plot and perhaps who have been in the proceess of planning future terror attacks on Americans and other innocents both on our soil and abroad.

That said, I won’t hold my breath waiting for apologies from Democrat strategist Bob Beckel and Democrat Congressman Jerrold Nadler, both of whom yesterday suggested the Times Square bomber might well have been part of some “right wing” plot. Liberal NYC Mayor Bloomberg speculated it might be someone who “didn’t like the healthcare bill.” Beneath contempt all.

Watch the story now die a slow death on the back pages of the NY Times, WaPo, and relegated to the sidebar at CNN.com.

HuffPo (h/t Memeo) is already spinning, saying that the bigger story of the day is the court ruling in Detroit on the alleged Militia members, the Hutaree. A liberal judge released them on bail saying the Feds had not made a strong enough case. Wrote HuffPo writer Louis Klavas, an NYU prof. "Do the Hutaree Militia Members Pose a Terrorist Threat?":

On Monday, while Americans were fixated on the hunt for and subsequent arrest of Faisal Shahzad for his alleged role in the Times Square bomb plot, an equally important terrorism-related story that was breaking in Detroit went relatively unnoticed.

It's also going to be interesting to watch the "head-in-the-sand" on Islamo-Fascism leftside of the libertarian movement. Leftwing libertarians, with the notable exception of Nick Gillespie of Reason, always seek to downplay the importance and the threat of Radical Islam. It doesn't fit their template. After all, if they acknowledge the threat, than they also have to offer a solution. And that solution more than not, involves their dreaded foreign intervention with US Troops.

We on the rightside of the libertarian movement acknowledge the threat we face, recognize it, and wish to fight back on all fronts. The bombing two days ago in Times Square just highlights how much we've been right all along, and all our opponents, liberals, pacifists, paleo-libertarians, paleo-conservatives, socialists, and most especially Obama Democrats have been dead wrong.

Arizona Heats Up: Who wants Amnesty?

In a turn of events, a sheriff's deputy was shot yesterday. Report from KTAR and the AP:

PHOENIX - A veteran sheriff's deputy was shot and wounded Friday after encountering a group of suspected illegal immigrants who apparently had been hauling bales of marijuana along a major smuggling corridor in the Arizona desert- a violent episode that comes amid a heated national debate over immigration.

State and federal law enforcement agencies deployed helicopters and scores of officers in pursuit of the suspects after the deputy was shot with an AK-47 on Friday afternoon, and the search continued into the night. Deputy Louie Puroll, 53, had a chunk of skin torn from just above his left kidney, but the wound was not serious. He was released Friday night from Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

I wonder if Wes thinks these are just hippie farmers? While Eric and Bruce Olsen want to legalize marijuana, it's not the harmless trade they say it is, or purely attributed to "hippie farmers" that Wes attributes it to. I would also submit that an AK-47 is not a zip gun either.

This underscores the seriousness of the illegal alien problems in Arizona and elsewhere in this country. Not all of them are coming here carrying posies and daffodils, just wanting to cut your lawn or wet nurse your kids.

While I think that the drug war has criminalized a lot of people, too many, that were just users, will legalization really bring peace? Will these drug traffickers become legitimate businessmen overnight? Who regulates the industry? If the government does, then they get to pick winners and losers just like car companies and banks. How does that work from a libertarian perspective?

Obviously the drug problem and illegal alien problem are not one in the same. Solving each one requires different measures, but the two become intertwined due to the mechanism of trafficking both humans and drugs.

As I have said before, with illegals, make the penalty for hiring them so extraordinary that no one will want to take the chance and enforce it. Can you imagine the penalties on Tyson Foods alone? We could pay off the deficit.

As far as the drug trade goes, that is another issue. It is my opinion that there will always be addicts. You can get them to switch or trade their addictions, but they always will be addicts. Where should the effort go? Would the money spent to put users in prison be better spent on rehabbing them? Studies show that only 3-4% are successful in the first go around. May be 10-12% on the second. It can take at least 3-4 go arounds through rehab before people get it. And even then, what is the substitute? Hopefully something a little safer.

The drug war has been a failure. Part of it is because we are dealing with supporting countries that are poor and drugs are money. Part of it is the culture they come from accepts a much higher level of criminal activity and immoral behavior. JMO. They accept criminals as legitimate authority, so coming here illegally is not even a traffic ticket to them.

If we wanted to win the war on drugs, we could. We have the military and technological know how to remove it off the map, may be permanently. The consequences of doing so are equally as troubling. Nature abhors a vacuum. What will take the place economically and politically of the drug lords and that culture? Coffee doesn't make as much money as cocaine, pot and heroin, and the history of Central and South America is such that most legitimate business are controlled by local oligarchs and international companies. They do not have the opportunities we have here for the little guy to start a business and to be successful. Part of it is their culture and the US bears some responsibility for supporting these multinational corps an oligarchs who have in many cases feigned being democratic, and we have seen the results. As much as I eschew socialism, I can see why a lot of these people run towards it.

What's the solution? Very simplistically, the regular folk in those countries need to be able to create opportunities for themselves, there. It requires a cultural and political shift in the countries they live in, and how they get there is beyond the scope of this post. I will say running to people like Chavez, Morales, or even Fernandez de Kirchner is in the wrong direction. May be the solution is mass immigration into these countries by people whose ideals are more aligned with free market thinking. How do they get there(The locals to a democratic and free market society)? What do you think?

Jasper Schuringa was the man of the hour, savior of the people on Northwest flight 253 as he took action and manhandled the terrorist that attempted to blowup the plane. Geert Wilders has proposed a national honor for Mr. Schuringa in his native homeland of Holland.

From the Libertarian Republican:

Shortly before landing passengers smelled smoke, they saw a glow and they heard something that sounded like firecrackers went off. "First there was a sort of bang and then there was smoke," said Dutchman Peter Smith.

Schuringa told CNN that he heard a bang. "Somebody started yelling fire, fire!" Then he saw smoke and he noted that the Nigerian did not move. Then he began to suspect that something was not right. He jumped over the passenger next to him and hurried to the Nigerian.

They appeared to have his pants open and a burning object between his legs to keep. "I took that thing off him, tried to extinguish fire with my hands and threw it away." Schuringa the Nigerian pulled from his place, and dragged him to the front of the plane. The Nigerian seemed stunned. "He stared into nothing."


Mr. Wilders, give that man a medal.

Muslims push Radical Anti-Gay Laws across Sub-Saharan Africa

According to Eric, "There was some breaking news last night.  The BBC is in a world of shit.  They ran a controversial poll asking readers if they thought it was okay, "to kill Homosexuals."  That's right, the friggin' LIBERAL!!!  BBC. 

American Gays are caught in a trap of their own political correctness. Same with the liberal media, folks like that bitch Rachel Maddow.  They're all spinning this as somehow to be blamed on Rick Warren of all people!!

Who will tell the real story?  Only Libertarians, specifically Right Libertarians.  Why?  Cause we support True Tolerance. 

I hate to say this, but the Christian Right can't defend themselves in this.  They can only go so far, and then they're own anti-Homosexual elements will push back. 

The Liberals of course, won't pin it on the true culprits, African Muslims, cause they're a politically protected group.  If you read some pieces on this like the CNN story, you will see some very mild mentions of Muslim Clerics being behind this.  But you gotta look close."

The Right Guy is against any government religion, whether an atheistic socialism or a fundamental muslim state. What I find ironic is that the left will not touch this yet they will blame this on Rick Warren. Rick Warren is as far from this issue in Uganda as is an apple on the moon (I am not a fan of Rick Warren). While Christianity eschews homosexuality, we are taught to love the sinner, hate the sin, and that anyone can receive reconciliation, redemption, and grace, if they follow the way. Killing people because of this is out of the question in any Christian religion. As a right blogger and Christian I condemn Uganda and Islam because of this action.

Uganda, Rwanda starting to feel Heavy Hand of Muslim Fundamentalism

Islam is on the rise across Sub-Saharan Africa, including Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Nigeria. And estimated 9.5 million Muslims now live in Uganda, for example. That is approximately 12.1% of the population (2004 figures). The Muslim dominated Luo Tribe headed by Raila Odinga now has a power sharing arrangement for the first time with the formerly Christian-dominated government of Kenya. Nigeria is suffering from a bloody civil war in its northern region with Muslim Separatists supported by Jihadist groups in Sudan, and Niger.

With the increase in fundamentalist Islam in the region comes an increasing push to institute laws consistent with Sharia. Among these include radical Anti-Homosexuality laws.

Homosexuality is already outlawed in 38 out of 53 African nations, all in Muslim or Muslim-dominated countries. Now Muslim groups are pushing for the sexual identity to be outlawed in countries previously immuned to Islamic domination.

Nigeria has a similar bill waiting to reach its statute books and already allows the death penalty for homosexuality in northern states, as does Sudan. Burundi criminalised homosexuality in April this year, joining 37 other African nations where gay sex is already illegal. Egypt and Mali are creeping towards criminalization, using morality laws against same-sex couples.

Rwanda, which suffered from one of the worst genocides in human history in the early 1990s, is the first of these countries to consider completely outlawing Homosexuality.

On December 16, 2009, the lower house of the Rwandan Parliament will hold its final debate on a draft revision of the penal code that will, for the first time, make homosexuality a crime in Rwanda.

Neighboring Uganda has followed suit.

CNN reported on December 9 that the Ugandan Parliament is debating severe restrictions on Homosexuals. The "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" includes these provisions:

• Gays and lesbians convicted of having gay sex would be sentenced, at minimum, to life in prison

• People who test positive for HIV may be executed

• Homosexuals who have sex with a minor, or engage in homosexual sex more than once, may also receive the death penalty

According to CNN:

A leading Muslim cleric, Sheikh Ramathan Shaban Mubajje, has called for gays to be rounded up and banished to an island until they die.

Also, Sheikh Nsereko Mutumba, the public relations officer of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has been quoted as saying:

We believe that Allah created us to multiply and worship him. How will a gay do that? Muslims are aware that homosexuality is a sin and I am sure that the churches also teach that this vice is a sin and unacceptable in any society.

The International Community has been slow to react. Political sensitivities with its native Muslim population have kept the United Kingdom from denouncing the Ugandan legislation. In the US the Obama administration, through Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now just beginning to issue mild and carefully worded criticisms.

Ironically, it has been Christians who have been the strongest and quickest in their reactions against the anti-homosexual proposals. A coalition of Christian leaders in the US strongly condemned the actions of the Ugandan Government and issued the following statement:

"Regardless of the diverse theological views of our religious traditions regarding the morality of homosexuality, in our churches, communities and families, we seek to embrace our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters as God's children, worthy of respect and love," the statement read.
