Supreme Court Affirms Natural Right to Self-Protection

The Second Amendment – The original homeland security.
Anonymous

The supreme court today struck down the Chicago gun ban. In a 5-4 decision, the court overturned the 1982 ban on guns in Chicago. The 1982 ban was so restrictive that no firearms could be legally owned or possessed within a domicile in the jurisdiction of Chicago. None.

The statist and fascist mayor Daly had this to say:

Daly said his primary goal would be to protect police officers, paramedics and emergency workers from being shot when responding to an incident at a home. He said he also wants to save taxpayers from the financial cost of lawsuits if police shoot someone in the house because the officer felt threatened.

"If the ban is overturned, we will see a lot of common-sense approaches in the city aimed at protecting first responders," Daley said. "We have to have some type of registry. If a first responder goes to an apartment, they need to know if that individual has a gun."

In other words, we may have to allow people to own firearms, but we will regulate you to death. The safety of police and other first responders is a red herring. In States like Texas, Arizona, Florida and Utah (Along with Vermont and Alaska) have the most liberal laws in regards to gun ownership, and I mean truly liberal. Police there generally do not have a problem with individuals legally possessing firearms. This is a fall back measure by Daly to restrict people based on his illogical and statist world view.
Writing for the court in a case involving restrictive laws in Chicago and one of its suburbs, Justice Samuel Alito said that the Second Amendment right "applies equally to the federal government and the states."

This is a happy day for liberty loving people, even with the continued threat from social progressive statists like Daly, Obama and others. Alito's affirming that gun ownership extends to the states sends a clear message to left wing progressive ideologues that our natural rights will be defended, promulgated and affirmed at all levels of government, no matter how much it pains them in their pursuit of making us Farm Animals®.

Israel and the Rest of the World

What has become apparent in these last few days if not confirmed is that Israel (and the United States) and judge by a different standard than the rest of the world.

We have found out the the peace protesters attacked the Israeli commandoes. We then found out they were armed. They we find out that they had stun grenades. Then we find out they were funded by the Turks. Yet the onus is on the Israelis. Somehow they should have given the peace terrorists a bouquet of flowers and kissed them on the lips. Is there something wrong here?

When we look to the rest of the world, North Korea sinks a South Korean Naval vessel in South Korean waters and nothing happens. Everyone is more afraid of China than they are of us or anyone else. This is just a continuation of the Obama Obsequiousness World Tour. No bad deed will be punished, unless of course it's allegedly perpetrated by the US or Israel. It fits Obama's narrative that the US has been the purveyor of evil in the world.

And what about evil? Ahmedinejad calls for the destruction of Israel, not on one occasion but continually over the years, while he now has enough material to create 2 nuclear weapons. Hamas' mantra is what? The destruction of Israel.

Pat Buchanan and rest of the anti-Israel malcontents will say, what does the destruction of Israel have to do with the US? It hasn't happened. Take a few steps back and look at the proponents behind this. It's islam, it's global jihadists. It's not about the fact we are the best or the richest, or the freest. It's about a world view that sees the end game as a global caliphate. In spite of the assertion that Israelis forced out palestinians, whatever that is, the jews were forced out by muslims over 1000 years ago, continuing the diaspora. So who forced who out first?

Look at the muslim invasion of Europe, now in its third iteration. Sharia law is allowed in the UK, and Rowan Williams sees Sharia and Islam dominance in England and Europe as inevitable. They are giving up without a fight (and people in this country worry about Mexicans. In time we will want them with open arms compared to the coming muslim problem).

So while the destruction of Israel doesn't raise a few hackles, who's next after them? Us of course. The problem is, we have no Charles Martel in our time. By the time the west recognizes there is a problem, it's wont be one anymore as it won't matter. We want to be so open minded as to let bad things in and accept them. Aristotle said that "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." A wise man whose ideas have been forgotten by most. The rational mind has been supplanted by the feeling one.

While I am not an interventionist, I think we need to recognize threats when they arise. It's the rational thing to do. Criticizing Israel is just an attempt by those who would enjoy her destruction to foment that in an incremental fashion because of the accurately perceived weakness that our enemies and other countries who interests are not the same as our own see in Obama and his regime. They know this stranger lover will throw his own under the bus in order to be loved by those that hate him. He's a deranged narcissist and cannot help himself. The result is that those outside out circle have grown hungry in their appetite for our destruction and the destruction of of allies. It's a case of malignant and pro-active schadenfreude on their part.

So some will ask, why not bring these people into our inner circle? I will ask, will that change their intentions, and if you believe so, show me an example where that was true. I believe it is good to have talks that build common ground if possible, but sooner or later the white elephant in the room will have to be dealt with, whatever that is. Diplomacy has mixed results here at best. It's a poker game where every tool in the toolbox must be brought to the game. Obama & Co. think they can get it done with just one tool. The problem is that these problems are out of the scope of community leaders and their normal solution of spreading around walking around money. Talk is cheap, especially with those that are resolute.

So where does this leave us? In the case of Israel with the Jihadist Flotilla, They have a few choices. All have their consequences. When the commandoes boarded the boat, they actually didn't expect the resistance they received and actually wished to pursue more peaceful methods of interdicting. It didn't go well and it will not be repeated, I assure you. it was a one shot deal. The Israelis have a legitimate concern about these "humanitarian" boats bringing weapons to Gaza. What was found on the boats justifies their concern, yet we have the mess.

Ultimately, Israel will do what they have to do to protect their interests. Obama should be supportive and the truth supports that position. The problem is he is breaking his back trying to get our enemies to love him, or at least not hate him. The time has come for tough talk. All tools need to be put on the table and shown to these despots and other half rate and third world idiots of what their options are. The problem is, what are our options? Frankly, we are over extended. What could we do?

The bottom line is that in a dangerous world where certain countries are becoming more dangerous. While we should avoid posturing and also becoming over extended, we need to send a message that cuts through all the noise.

  1. The United States will defend itself against all enemies foreign and domestic with extreme prejudice.
  2. The United States will support our allies in the face of aggression. We will defend them if asked.
  3. The United States will use all tools available in diplomacy. Nothing is off the table.
  4. The United States will judge it's relationships not by words, but by actions, and their will be accountability.
  5. The United States will no longer support countries financially or otherwise that "Take the piss" on us.
After these statements of facts are made, then our actions must match them. The model for this was created by Ronald Reagan and modified by me. I would be slightly more hard ass. Again, actions must match words, or it's meaningless. It is like the guy that says, you better not cross this line, then the other guy crosses it, and he draws another one and makes the same demand again. It's a recipe for being playing and being feckless. It done by the Farm Animals® in Europe, but obviously it has not served them well.

The real bottom line is that the rest of the world is behaving like a petulant, obstinate child whose behavior has been reinforced by doing nothing. It's time for some tough love. If we want this double standard to stop, we must be willing to stand up and say enough is enough. Neville Chamberlain has been dead a long time and unfortunately was reanimated in November of 2008. It's time to send him back. We know where his pusillanimity lead, and it's no different this time around.

In New Jersey, Need Trumps Ability: Why Christie Matters

With socialism, marxism, and collectivism, need always trump ability. If you do not believe me, look at the standard marxist statement: To eat according to their needs, from each according to their ability. This means that what is given from the government, which acts as a proxy by force, to those that can't or won't do. It also means, that by force, this proxy for bad ideas takes what is earned by those who not only can but want to. It's not a free will gift and it is taken without respect to the people that earned it, but rather as an unwanted obligation and a demand that they should be happy to do it.

The New Jersey legislature passed a tax hike on all those who make more than a million dollars a year. This adds up to 16,000 people out of 3.9 million. Who speaks for them? Obviously to the socialist controlled New Jersey legislature, no one should.

The bill passed along party lines, 46-32 and 23-17 in the assembly and senate respectively. In a moment of honesty, a socialist in the assembly shows their true colors:

“We’ve got a lot of people who can’t afford to pay their taxes” and need the rebates that the measure may restore, Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver said before the vote. “Six- hundred thousand older adults would be better off.”

There are a couple problems here. If people can't afford to pay their taxes, ask why? Why are they being taxed so high? If the answer is to pilfer those that have more money, it's irresponsible and thievery. Socialism is based on coveting and stealing. It never occurs to the dems to cut expenditures because they are bribing people with their own money. The 600,000 that are complaining of cuts to senior citizen programs are a sizable voting block where 16,000 are not. How is that for taxation without representation? Oliver should read her history to understand the consequences of such aberrant thinking.

Why Chris Christie matters is that he says he will veto this bill. The demo-socialists do not have the votes to override the veto. A good thing. Time for some fiscal responsibility and honesty.

“This is a defining moment -- it seems to me to be all about taxes, taxes and taxes,” Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce, a Republican from Parsippany, said during more than an hour of floor debate before the vote. Referring to Democrats, he said, “that’s all you guys do.”

And that is the truth. Socialists like to bribe people with their own money, and they do it as a bribe for votes. This is done to convert those that can to those that need. The more that need, the more votes the arbiters of socialism will get and thereby hold on to power. This is the path to becoming Farm Animals®. If you doubt me, look at another bit of honesty from a socialist that feels sacrifice is duty and who is also the high priest at the altar of sacrifice:

“I don’t have an issue with millionaires, I just have an issue with people not sharing in the sacrifice,” said Senate President Stephen Sweeney, a Democrat from West Deptford. “Those 16,000 people can help 600,000.”
What Sweeney isn't honest about is that the taxes he wants to steal from the 16,000 is to restore programs to bribe the 600,000. Sfacime.

It is a good thing to see a governor stand on proper rational principle and not emotion based straw man arguments and populism. He was elected to govern and govern from a position of responsibility, not of a tyrant that succors the hoi pelloi into a puerile stupor for the purpose of political hegemony. Its time to grow up.

This is why we need Chris Christie.

The Road To The Farm Was Paved With Lots Of Taxes: The VAT tax again

In a ramp up to the Europeanization of the United States, President Obama said he supports a VAT for the United States. According to Charles Babington of The People's Associated Press, President Barack Obama suggested Wednesday that a new value-added tax on Americans is still on the table, seeming to show more openness to the idea than his aides have expressed in recent days.

This is no surprise to The Right Guy, who ran an article on the subject over two weeks ago. What is also not surprising is the speed the fabian finocchio in chief is moving on the Europeanization of this country. November and actually January is coming quickly. Time is running out and look for the mountebank in chief to go for the full court press.

So, do you want to be a sheep, a cow, or chicken?

A Reply To John Batchelor and Company

A Reply to John Batchelor and Company.

Peter and JB:
John went to seminary. Of course he knows what messianic figures are about, and he understands Obama. At least I would hope so.

Obama is a fabian socialist. That means an incrementalist approach. I think that he'll shove anything he can down our throats before next january knowing there is no precedent of repealing social reform bills etc. I don't think he cares because he is a man on a mission. What matters is getting the job done. Keeping the job after 2012 is a secondary thought because he has the job now and that's when he can get things done in his context.

Does he want to destroy America as we know it? Yes. It's a tenet of marxism to destroy traditions and rewrite history to suit the marxist regime that follows. His ideology is one of dependence, of puerile dependence of citizens on the government, like farm animals. It's where he believes his power will come from. Once hooked, like an opium addict, most people won't want to get off it. Look at Europe. They are willing to work most of the year for the government. Such foolishness in my estimation and anathema to what America has been. He will use economic populism which is as old as the book and as evil as the devil. Envy as JB knows is proscribed in on of the commandments (coveting), yet the left will use it to foment and redirect discontent (The right uses social issues). Such measures work on the weak minded and they have to break another commandment, stealing, to complete the transaction. I guess the lessons at Sunday school didn't sink in.

What JB may not want to admit is that by being some sort of loyal opposition as he usually portrays, does not repel the onslaught of this leviathan. I have said it before and I will say it again, had JB been a commentator during the revolution, he would have been wringing his hands about the war. I respect his civility and breeding, but like any good tool box, you have to everything available, even if you eschew some of the tools. Nothing is off the table. It doesn't mean you have to use it, just that the other side realizes you can if you want.

Where does this leave us? I could be wrong, but if the GOP/Tea Party does well this november, Obama will be nullified to a great extent. What worries me is the damage done between now and January. I think we should be pushing for as much repeal as we can and I support Beck's position on reduction of government. It not time for the GOP and opposition to Obama to be feckless or timid. The pendulum is swinging and it's time we go with the momentum.

The Real Cost of Obamacare

As Obamacare has passed, now companies will have to pay big time. AT&T has already said it has to book 1 billion of 1st quarter costs because of the bill, and Caterpillar has to pay 150 million. In my own state of Iowa, John Deere has a similar cost of 150 million. Bloomberg estimate that 14 billion will get "shaved" from corporate profits this quarter. This will surely delay any recovery that people were hoping for. I would ask ObaMao, how did his bill create jobs? How does it keep people free and not dependent? Surely these companies will not be hiring many if any people, especially in terms of new positions. THey certainly won't have the money to invest back into the company too. Of course we are getting a first hand look at the effects of socialism and what it will do to the economy. I also have pondered something else too, and I wonder what my readers think: Since medical insurance is normally considered a benefit, how will companies factor in that benefit when they cut back on healthcare plans (which they will in order to avoid thee penalties they are paying) when trying to attract talent? Will we get a $10K raise for the lack of benefits? This also plays into the socialist's hands. Companies will have to cut back on benefits and at some point it will become politically necessary to create a one payer system. This is what MaObaMao wants. At that point, companies will have absolved themselves of any medical insurance costs, and the employee will in essence be stuck paying for it through increased taxes of all kinds. So not only will we not get the difference, but it will come out of our pay check and our pockets. Look at Denmark, where people work more than 6 months out of the year for the government. Farm Animals, every one of them.

The real cost of Obamacare is economic slavery and dependence on the federal government. They want to create a society of Farm Animals where by they tend the flock. It's not about let's all get along: Remember, peace is the absence of opposition, and most of the time that is achieved by some sort of force. Farm Animals are at peace, but they are also kept in pens to produce for the farmer, and exercise no free will, if it could be possible. Think about it. Socialism is a system that extends the Farm System to human society as a whole in a effort to produce a society of subservient and sinecure producers for the benefit of the few. In some ways it makes the slavery system under the old south more palatable, as there was some place to escape to for freedom. These entropic fools want to make it the same everywhere so there is no where to go. This is about enslaving and controlling mankind, not for some system that affords basic needs and wants for it's citizens for some altruistic purpose. Any sacrifice made necessary and promulgated by those in power should be looked at with suspicion and derision. And to paraphrase someone else, look to where that altar of sacrifice is and who benefits. These bastards are nihilistic materialists that look no more upon you than a farmer does with a chicken on the chopping block. You are literally just another brick in his wall. Until people really understand this, that we are just Farm Animals to these people, slaves, then it will always be this tug of war or pendulastic exercise every 10 years between between freedom (right) and slavery (left). These people are not only scum of the earth, but fools.

The real cost of Obamacare and whatever else he tries to shove done our throat is our lives, liberties and our pursuit of true happiness. It is at the destruction of our country, our constitution and our way of life, substituting it with something that is anathema to human dignity, freedom, and self-responsibilty. It's to destroy the human spirit, not to let it fly. What will we do?

Farm Animals:Why Socialism and Marxism Sucks

As a continuation of why we suck, I want to explain my frequent use of the term "Farm Animals".

Farm animals are used for one thing: To Produce. In the case of the picture to the left, the cows here are used to produce milk. Notice the clean, austere, functional, efficient and productive environment. As long as the cows produce, they will be well taken care of.

They get antibiotics, hormones, visits from the vet, kept clean and are well cared for. As long as they produce, they are ok and if and when they are not, they are sent to McDonald's or the rendering house. It's just the way it is. Cows don't have any notion of freedom, and they can't make the rational choice whether or not to be where they are. Still, some would argue that they are better off being milk cows for the dairy.

Humans on the other hand have the power of reason, or so we are led to believe, and because of this, we are supposed to be able to make informed and rational decisions. Yet, despite this, like the fool that keeps playing three card monte, we make choices that make no sense, at least not good sense. With the rise of MaObama, it seems many people are sold on the idea of a socialist/marxist America, where as in Europe, they want the government to take care of them cradle to grave.

What makes such European countries successful is that in order for the system to work, there must exist enough people that produce for the system. You say, "what is the difference between that and capitalism? In capitalism, the workers produce for the "corporations' and companies The differences are that one, that people in a capitalist democracy, and I mean truly both, they have the right and free will to participate to the extent that they wish and whatever they earn (in a perfect world) belongs to them. Hopefully they make rational choices for their lives and can do so without fear. With the former, without producers that give to the system, the system cannot sustain itself. The more the people want from the government, the more will be taken from them by the government.

So, just as the cows are taken care of for the purpose of producing milk, so are citizens of a socialist country for the purpose of supporting the government and its dependents. Their care depends on their contribution. This is observed in every socialist democracy, like Canada, the UK and Australia to name but a few.

The argument can be made that they make these decisions out of free will. This is true under some circumstances, but like most governments, it is harder to take it back after it happens. Another observation is that people become enculturated or you could say that they are domesticated into this lifestyle. Still, the truth is inescapable: Citizens of these countries are like farm animals, producing for a system without rational thought as to why, the consequences, and what other possibilities might be. I would also liken this to the puerile nature of infants. Feed a baby, change it's diapers and give it attention and it will be happy. At what point do people want to be treated as adult human beings, responsible for their own destiny, and make their own way?

Our country was founded by people who were such people who made their own way. It seems to me that we are taking a huge step backwards. I could write volumes on this, but for now, this is it. So, the question is, do want to be free, adult, and responsible, or do you want to be treated as a farm animal, like a puerile child, an infant? What road should America take? Will we suck? :)
