A national poll revealed some interesting things. Allstate/National Journal Heartland Monitor poll revealed that 56% of voters say they have less confidence that elected officials in DC will make good financial and economic decisions, Just 48% approve of the job Obama is doing, while 46% disapprove, and Just 39% say they trust Obama more than GOPers in Congress.
what is most revealing is that 32% say they believe the GOP has the right ideas. That's right, only 32%. While Only 39% of voters said they would vote to re-elect Pres. Obama, Dems have a small 39%-35% advantage on the generic Congressional ballot.
This tells me that the GOP isn't bringing it on, that they aren't doing their job. They can't sell it because they don't have it. While the Democrats have showed their true colors and screwed us in the process, the GOP hasn't come up with anything and counting on the default vote won't do it.
Enter the Tea Party. They have classical liberal ideas and the backing of a large portion of independents. The GOP would like nothing more than to co-opt the Tea Party and use their constituency to get them in in November. What then? A roll back to RINO days where they screw us a little less than Pelosi and company? Could be. Judson Philips of the Tea Party swears it will be the Tea Party that will take over the GOP. Really?
While The Tea Party has amassed some popularity and momentum, not being a formal organization with a purpose beyond steering the GOP has limited their effect. Michael Steele aka Mr. Potato Head, doesn't have the fear of god in him yet. The GOP needs to recall the name "Whigs". The Tea Party should have coalesced in such a way as to foment that notion. They really have not. And the major disappointment for me has been Palin taking the middle road by being loyal to those that pissed on her for another 15 minutes. She may have designs for 2012, but fear of repeating the Bull Moose fiasco of 1912 should not stop her from taking the reins. Rush Limbaugh can't do it, neither will Glenn Beck and Certainly not Sean Hannity. This has to build like a tidal wave and wash everything away when it hits shore. Right now I am wondering if I will get more than one good wave to ride.

I used to believe that as human individuals, we are born into this world with natural rights that are inviolate: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Property or Happiness. Now we’re on the downhill slide after reelecting a malignant and grandiose narcissist who will run this country into the ground. The folks who used to be conservatives that I knew have gone full-on fascist, appealing to their own unqualified biases and fears, and put us on the road to destruction.

Why the Tea Party Must Die
Suppose you owned a business, it is a successful business, although it has had it's ups and downs and you are in a down slide, but your competition across the street has really screwed up badly and you expect to pick up some business because of it. In fact, you plan to make a killing and wipe out all of your losses. Now imagine some of your customers and now ex-employees have decided to open their own business competing with yours. They are disgruntled: In the case of the ex-employees, they know how badly you run the business, and in terms of the customers, they know that too, but from the lousy service they get and poor products you sell. The problem is that your business and the one across the street are a biopoly, that in fact together have 95% of the market share. You both have a good thing going, and while there is no way that one business could do it all, two businesses will maximize their profits without any real consideration of competition and customers have no where to go.
So those ex-employees and ex-customers open their own shop, but they don't have the organizational skills to run a big company...yet. They have lots of customers that are disgusted with the biopoly, and want to buy their product. It looks like they very well could knock you off and replace you. The other company isn't as worried because they didn't lose quite as many customers or employees, and even if their fortunes have gone downhill, they think they will weather it. What do you do?
One, you can try to out compete them at their own game, but since your brand is damaged, this is a tough row. The other option is to buy them out. Co-opt them. Bring them back in the fold and then when the ruckus has died down, fire every one of them one by one slowly, and get back to business as usual. All it takes is some money and a lot of dialogue with them, convincing them you have organization to make their ideas successful. It could work. It worked 10 years ago when the same thing happened before, so it should work again.
I think you understand my allegory. I hope so. It's like good cop/bad cop, except what criminals forget is that they are both cops. IF the people in the leadership of the Tea Party have any sense of honor, loyalty, ethics and morality, they will stick it out and forge something new. IF not, it's meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Care to talk about it? I'd like to know what you think.

Another Democrat Won't Seek Reelection, Another Opportunity For the GOP
Patrick Kennedy won't be seeking reelection and this presents itself with an interesting opportunity for the GOP. Can they make it two for two? Scott Brown won The Swimmer's seat last month, will Mr. Potato Head get his act in gear for this? By Brown's own admission, the GOP was of little help. Still, there is hope in Rhode Island that the republicans can win yet another seat that had been considered a lock for the dems. First New Jersey and Virginia, then Massachusetts, Today is a good day for America. Who's next? A Kennedy-less congress is also something to celebrate. Have a Sam Adams Ale on me. An Open Letter to the Democrats From Dick Morris: The Charge Of The 280 Dems
By DICK MORRIS
Published on TheHill.com on December 8, 2009
Let's first channel Alfred, Lord Tennyson from his poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade":
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred (two-hundred eighty)
"Forward the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns," he said
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred. (two-hundred eighty)
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred. (two-hundred eighty)
But still you charge. Still you vote for a bill the American public has repudiated, after extensive debate, by 18 points. Still you back legislation that seniors oppose by two to one. Still you use your majorities to pass the single most unpopular piece of legislation in recent history.
Civil rights, Social Security, women's suffrage -- all of Harry Reid's metaphors -- were popular and had broad approving majorities. This bill has the opposite: a nation paralyzed with fear for what you are about to do to its healthcare.
Will you listen to the elderly who absorb 40 percent of medical care and not to the AARP, which you have bought by way of a promise to eliminate Medicare Advantage?
Will you listen to the doctors of America, two to one in opposition, and not to the AMA, which you have bludgeoned into submission via your threats of reimbursement cuts?
Will you stop to examine how, as Democrats, you can vote to slice $500 billion from Medicare and cut home healthcare? Former comrades-in-arms, former party-mates, do not commit party-cide by passing this bill!
Is this to be your epitaph? That you put all healthcare under government control? That your legacy is to be the waiting list to see a doctor? That the memorial to your public service is to be the denial of care at a bureaucrat's whim?
Many of you must know that you are sacrificing your careers. Can Blanche Lincoln, Byron Dorgan, Harry Reid and others really believe they will return?
Can any of you believe you will remain in the majority after you have so flouted the obvious will of your constituents?
Why does this pied piper have such power over you? His approval is sinking in every poll at a pace unprecedented for presidents. If he promises you judgeships, ambassadorships, Cabinet posts or other patronage to enliven your retirement, can you doubt that there is but a two-year term in the offing?
And think about what the deficit you are creating will do to your country. The nation you have already burdened with so much debt that you know and we all know that inflating the currency is the only way out! In your souls you must know that in five years and 10 years and 15vyears, it will be the skyrocketing cost of the system you now put in place that will animate future deficits. You must realize that the CBO estimates are a fiction created by 10 years of taxing divided by six years of spending.
What has gotten into you? Where are your senses? What happened to your instincts?
Are you all to line up and drink the Kool-Aid, march off the cliff in lockstep? Charge into the cannon?
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
Have you truly worked for this all your life: to sacrifice your political careers to pass the most unpopular piece of legislation I can ever remember passing Congress?

Is the President Really a Fascist, Socialist or Marxist?
The president has been called many things in the past year, including fascist, nazi, marxist, and socialist. After reading Pat Buchanan this week, I learned he is a Fabian Socialist. What is a Fabian Socialist you ask? A Fabian Socialist is someone that subscribes to the tenets of the Fabian Society. You may ask, what's the difference, a socialist is a socialist? According to that great font of information, Wikipedia, "The Fabian Society is a British intellectual socialist movement, whose purpose is to advance the principles of social democracy via gradualist and reformist, rather than revolutionary means." So Alinsky and Obama are Fabian while Ayers was revolutionary, but I think he saw the err of his ways.
While this is a granular difference, some may say, the end game for them is the same as for other socialists. I'll say not so fast and I will tell you why. In the game of politics, compromise is seen as a great virtue. In fact, being pragmatic is a way of life for most politicians, but is also says something about the variable moral compass and the lack of ethics many of them seem to cherish. Fabian Socialists take advantage of an opponents compromising nature and move towards socialism incrementally, rather than through revolutionary means.
Some of my compatriots at a blog I won't mention seem to believe that bipartisanship of the independents and others that do not align themselves with either party will somehow bring us closer to returning our country to values of liberty and stopping socialism in it's tracks. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Remember that we have Barry O in the White House until 2012. Even if we were to change the demographics of the senate and house by electing a lot of independents, you can be sure both established parties will be working to destroy an independent movement and would cut off their nose to spite there face by siding with Obama. They love power more than you or I, trust me. We already see the GOP getting weak in the knees in regards to Obamacare after his messiahness said he'd withdraw the public option. These idiots in congress don't get it, as they want to give the government more power and therefore themselves and their lackeys regardless of what their constituents want. You can also bet the Rush and Hannity will be carrying water on this as well, no matter what they say now. Can you imagine if the GOP gets booted out as well?
Don't misunderstand me, I would love to see a new party emerge out of this monopoly of corruption we now have. Neither party will do anything to return the power to the rightful owner, us, and it is nigh time we take it back. My warning to you is to make sure that you know what we are dealing with: a socialist that will bide his time and do things incrementally, whether through the congress, or executive order to promulgate and propagate his socialist and progressivist agenda. Any bipartisanship or compromise at this point is a win for Barry O.
And to the point of a new political party, I would also tell you that you cannot be everything to all people. While being a compartmentalized snake oil salesmen and fairy-tale raconteur has been the de rigueur of political success in the last 70-100 years, it's about time we have a party that has first principles and stands by them through thick or thin. Any candidate that does not believe them or wish to follow them is out. A tent too big ceases to be a tent at all. I'll be happy to go over first principles at a later time.
So, the question is, what is Obama, A fascist, socialist or marxist? The answer may be that he is a particular type of socialist, but it really doesn't matter. He is the enemy of freedom, of liberty and natural rights, and we have but a short time to put a halt to his policies which serve to enslave us, bankrupt us, and demoralize us.
Freedom first, freedom last my friends.

American Politics: Like a Chinese Menu Part I

American politics reminds me of a Chinese menu: Pick one from column A and one from Column B. You are ordering the food from the same restaurant, it is all Chinese food, and the differences aren't very much. Yet we pick and choose in both arenas as if we are choosing between Chicken Scarpariello and Egg Foo Yong or Steak Tatar and Sweet and Sour Tofu. The allegory here is that while we deceive ourselves into believing that we are making rational individual choices, in fact, we are just choosing a different side of the same coin.
Both sides use straw-men populist arguments to attract and divide the population into competing constituencies. All the while, politicians are players on the same team: Team Geppetto. It's like Miller light: Great Taste or Less Filling? It's the same crappy beer. So one side uses socio-economic issues to win some of our hearts: The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, universal healthcare, The shrinking middle class, environmental issues etc. The other side uses security and values issues: National security, family values, whatever that is, illegal immigration, and the war on terror.
While many of these issues are real to an extent, they really obscure the true problems: A society that has extended itself in credit to the point that it is both in individual and collective indentured servitude, a political system that no longer serves the citizens of this country, but only itself, and the willingness of the American people to give up their natural rights in order to secure themselves perceived guarantee of security. Let's first take a look at the second one, a political system that no longer serves it's citizenry, but promulgates its own existence.
As I asserted above, the political parties in this country are different sides of the same coin. We see the issues they use, but why do we fall for it? I think the reason comes down to power. Just like with sports teams, humans live vicariously through their teams and gain a sense of power through the teams victories. It's the same thing with politics: Most people want to be on the winning team. This is not rationally based, but emotionally based. What drives them to pick a particular team involves many factors and that team will go to great lengths to understand what their brand represents and give that perception to their fan base.
Where this process falls down is that we only have two political parties and each one cannot encompass all possibilities, no matter how hard they try. What the snakes realize is that people will be pragmatic and accept choices that compromise their values. Again, it comes down to power in which people want to believe they will get a seat at the table. Like a woman who gives up her virtue in search of love and commitment, voters are often find themselves less than satisfied with the results. Still, they keep coming back, believing the same fairy tales.
The sad thing is that once a person sacrifices their values for the seat at the table, they will soon find that they can and will equivocate on anything. My question is, is it worth it? A process that is built on people compromising their core values, their principles, only serves the masters of the process, not themselves. They have become slaves to the wishes and desires of others. They have become nothing. Are we that poor in spirit and mind? If so, where did this failure come from?
I'd like to get into detail here in regards to the spiritual aspects, but I intended this article to be about our political choices. At this point, the failure is fait accompli. We have churches, caring parents, an education system and we still produce people that one, do not use critical thinking in or about the political process and two, are willing to do anything for that seat at the table or for something in return. Basically people want something for nothing, but only a fool is bribed with his or her own money. As our society creates higher abstraction layers of wants, in turn these things become perceived needs. An example of this is the credit crunch. We have been extended credit to the point that we do not only have everything we need, but in many instances, everything we want. We are the only country in the world where someone considered poor might have a house, and a car, both with air conditioning.
The idea of extending credit to pump the economy is nothing new. Even Alexander Hamilton promulgated this with the government. Banks had perfected this credit equilibrium to inflate the economy, driven by consumerism. As long as Uncle Sam helped when it could, it to would benefit with increased tax revenue, and a satiated populace like a sailor that has blown a months salary on hookers and booze in one night.
Now with the partial collapse, or what I call a correction, the mark is called. Reality has slapped some in the face and like the sailor with a hangover, they wonder where all their money went. Of course Team Geppetto has to do their part by promoting the perception all of us are hung over. So like the addicts that Americans are, we do not want to feel any pain. So we go to our dealer, our pimp, and ask if they can make the pain go away. Electing Obama was a classic example of this. Change and Hope is emotional nebulous bull shit. Always has been, always will be. He recognized that people were looking for the relief of their pain. Being the messianic master magician he is, he did his magic tricks and now he is president. Now Americans are willing to give up almost anything to not only get relief from their pain, but to get what they have not earned as well. Basically, that girl that gave up her virtue in search of love and commitment is now a prostitute hooked on heroin. She'll do anything to boot up. She has no honor, pride, self-esteem, or moral compass. Talk about a lost soul.
Like the Chinese menu, everything that is political in this country comes from the same kitchen. Both the GOP and the Democrats want it and like it this way. While we are supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people, it is not so. These gangsters master is power, the power they get over us from us. so who is the fool here?
There are parties that offer alternatives, but they are perceived as losers with no chance of winning. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy, and what we are left with is column A and Column B. Take the libertarians and parties like that. Some great ideas, and great philosophies. The problem is, libertarians offer nothing for the addicts that is tangible. There is nothing to barter for quid pro quo, nothing for the fools to get in return, except more freedom of course. Unfortunately, in today's day and age, the idea of freedom has become meaningless. People think they have enough freedom, as long as they can have a standard of living that kings didn't have 75 or even 50 years ago. They also don't care what unchosen obligation they impose, what unrewarded duty or an involuntary servitude is sustained upon themselves or others in the pursuit of this. It's not a rational self-interest, but an irrational one, one that Team Geppetto understands and manipulates through it's populist measures. Freedom doesn't sell because it promises nothing without risk and responsibility. People would have to evolve from the addict's puerile and selfish attitude to one of self-reliant adults.
And this is where we end up. Who has the power to control. It is a contest between being free, which means that we make our own decisions and are responsible for them versus a safety net where we don't have to be responsible for our actions. If we give up this control in our lives, who benefits? Progressives like BHO will say that society benefits. altruism is the service to others without regard for oneself. If this is true, than slavery is the highest attainment. Who benefits? Those in power benefit, particularly those with a progressive view that humans are incapable of taking care of themselves, incapable of being responsible, incapable of managing their own affairs, and that the only answer that will solve all our problems is through the government. Does it sound familiar? Ever hear of Original Sin? In the christian context, salvation can only happen through a belief in Jesus Christ. With progressives the religion is the government, the savior now is BHO, and the Original Sin is man's conflict between puerile attachment and self-reliance. What we are seeing here is the attempt to create another religion that will control people's lives. Look at Islam and Sharia Law (throw in Dhimmi, Jizya and Pahlavi), or the Catholic church some centuries ago (and in some places not some centuries ago). They rule(d) people's lives and made decisions about people's everyday lives. So progressivism and socialism are just another belief system where an oligarchical power structure benefits at the expense of the rest of us. So where am I going with this? Why do we need this? Where should we go? That is in Part II which will follow. As usual:

Stimulus?
Barack Hussein Obama has his bowels in an uproar over the fact that the republicans (and the American People) are holding back their support for this bill. Each party involved has their own priorities in this fiasco, so lets take a little closer look at them. President Obama has to pay back a lot of people for his getting into office. The only people that are being stimulated by this bill are people that supported BHO and people that work for the government. Look at the subsidies promised to ACORN for example. We will pay billions to this corrupt organization because they committed fraud to put another fraud in office.
The democrats in congress want this bill to go through as is because one, like republicans, and most politicians, they want to make it look like they are doing something. call it busybody disease if you will. If they aren't doing something, no matter how feckless on one hand or outright corrupt or insane on the other, they feel they aren't doing their job. What they don't realize is that the less they do on our behalf, the better off we would be. The other MO for the democrats is that they are in on the BHO group think to move us towards socialism. Look for items in the bill that pertain to healthcare, welfare and education. Yet another reason for the pork is just because they feel they can do it.
Now, with the republicans, the figure they can make political hay out of this by not supporting the bill and letting it hang on the democrats neck like an albatross. The problem is that too few of them truly agree with common sense americans that the bill is horse shit and they suffer from the same busybody disease as the democrats. They look at polls and judge how long they have to appear to fight the bill to get the greatest benefit all the while back room negotiating for the pork and earmarks they can believe in. Just like TARP, they will get on board when they have been bought off cheaply.
There is next to nothing in this bill that will get us out of any recession or depression. In fact, it will makes things worse. This quote has been making the rounds lately and I thought it would make a good lesson for our ersatz president: "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it". This has been attributed to Dr. Adrian Rogers, although I have my doubts. Still, it rings true, and right now, Mr Obama and his cadre of socialist mountebanks are preparing to implement not only unwanted and feckless obligations, but obligations for which all of us will be in peonage for quite some time to come.

Right now it doesn't look good. My guess is that the republicans will fold because they don't want to been seen as feckless for doing nothing, so they will barter for their own pork. Right now, the best we can hope for is a change in voting habits in 2010. I have to wonder if there aren't several million people right now wondering why they voted for this incompetent hope and change freak from Chicagoland. Right now we are stuck with this double talking charlatan and his equally tergiversating distaff.

Obama and Brown: Globalism on the rise?

It has been reported that Gordon Brown suggests that it is time for a global society. This is not far out of line with what Obama believes and coupled with what has been projected in Obama using executive powers coupled with a democrat congress, could a lesser United States be in the making amongst a global context? Obama's beliefs are antithetical to the traditional definition of American Exceptionalism. Is this the beginning of something good or bad? You tell me.

Einstein's Theory of Insanity

Einstein said that insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I thought Americans were stupid or ignorant, but it seems may be we're just crazy. Even though Bush has made more mistakes than Tim Taylor in all the episodes of Tool Time put together, the logic of the American people amaze me. When polled, people have given Bush an approval rating of 27%, based on a range of 22-32%. Congress is at 9%. Considering the democrats were elected into a sweeping majority 2 years ago for change (which didn't happen), they currently have a dismal 9% approval rating, and now the polls also show that democrats may pick up more seats in congress is proof that Americans are crazy. More of the same will not help. Giving Barack Obama a democrat congress is like Michael Jackson at a Wiggles concert and all the adults were sent home. Someone once said voters get the government they deserve. I guess it all makes sense then.

Since when is a minority a majority? Ask the vampiress yourself
It seems that house democrats are blaming the latest impasse with the bailout bill on the house republicans. Yes, you heard that correctly, the house minority republicans. Since when can a majority not pass a bill? How lame is it for the sanguineness one on the capitol hill? Perhaps she needs to take another bite to find blood? May be she should start with her own. So now what we have here is an economic problem that is in search of a political solution. Good luck. Shakespeare only got it half right with his admonition against lawyers: he should have included politicians. But then again, the majority of politicians seem to be lawyers anyway.

Karl Rove, Say Cheese
Today I received an email from the Iowa Republican Party. Yes, that is correct, I am a registered Republican, although I must admit that it may change in the near future. Anyway, I received this email in regards to a fundraiser hosted by the party featuring Karl Rove as the guest. The luncheon cost $100 to attend. I understand that the party wants to raise money, but $100 for lunch is a little steep, but Ok, that is the deal. A little further on I find out that they want $1000 if you want your picture taken with Karl Rove. I was nearly speechless, apoplectic with blood shooting out of my eyes and smoke coming from my ears. Karl Rove should pay me for the photograph. $1000? Holy crap. It's Karl Rove, the mutant machiavellian nurd from Colorado. If Jesus came back, I might pay $1000 to be photographed with him. The gaul, the chutzpah! I emailed Wes Peterson from the Republican Party and promptly told him he is nuts. I also asked what the Lincoln Bedroom would cost if McCain got elected. I'd have to guess at least $250,000 and more like $500,000. Luckily I still have a sense of humor and not much money. The Lincoln Bedroom will be expensive no matter who is in the White House, and if I am going to spend $250,000 for a room, I'd rather stay at the Vatican, or may be Buckingham Palace. What irks me is that access to anyone beyond your local party leader costs money. It's like the damn mafia, only worse. At least the mob accomplishes it's goals. Republicans, particularly those in my state, with the possible exception of Steve King, who is in the congress, have become ersatz democrats. Clearly outnumbered in both state houses they have surrendered everything except the name republican. They would probably label their efforts as some sort of pragmatism, but when you look at the republican platform, and look how they have voted, there is a disparity. Family values, life, etc. Still, they find time to ask me to pay for lunch with Karl Rove, who I have no inclination to be with in the same hemisphere. Good luck with the pictures.
Thank you for reading this blog.
