Of all the fecklessness and pusillanimity of our current crop of politicians and leaders, The Empire State Building will be lit with the colors of the Chicom flag to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the despotic people's republic of China. This is such a fabian society fairy tale such that even if Ronnie were reanimated he'd be apoplectic at the sight. Every Korean War vet should be throwing brick bats at Bloomberg and Obama.
LCR has an article on it and you can post your distress there as wel as here if you like. Being an ex-NYer, I am both disturbed and nonplussed about this. On one hand, China is a totalitarian communist dictatorship turned quasi-capitalist dictatorship (can we say fascist?) that has been responsible for killing millions in the name of Karl Marx, Chairman Mao and his political descendants. China is anathema to freedom and liberty, and with this tribute, we basically show how utterly feckless we are. The people of Taiwan must be watching in disbelief.
Obviously, this is just another example of Obama's retrenchment from capitalism, democracy, and liberty. Not only does he not understand the concept of American Exceptionalism and eschew it, he repudiates it at every chance. Here is a man that will burn his own house down because he wants a new one instead of moving to a new house. I'll add to that he wants to burn down everyone's house. If any man in the presidency had a messiah complex, this guy has it.
So, what to do about this? Call, write, and/or email Mayor Bloomberg and the owners of the Empire State Building to protest this. Nothing may happen, but we must fight this enculturation of marxism, progressivism, and socialism in our society. Liberty first, liberty last.
Thank you for reading this blog.
It is my belief that as human individuals, we are born into this world with natural rights that are inviolate; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Property or Happiness which has been expressed eloquently by Thomas Jefferson. Anything less puts us in the status of slaves, indentured servants and farm animals. My impetus for this blog is to serve as the clarion call to others, like minded or not, that our freedom is at stake in a world of increasing collectivism.

Couldn't have said it any better -- Bravo Sir, Bravo!
Thanks for the support Land Shark.
Great post!
While they light up the building for various occasions, I heard this morning that they refused to light it up to honor the Marine Corps birthday.
I will NEVER visit The Empire State Building. Screw them!
If they refused to light it for the marines anniversary, then whoever owns that building is farcockt, truly farcockt.
Brilliant way of saying this RG, couldn't have said it better myself. Frankly, I am speechless with this story......
Hey RG! Just to let you know that I found out that the Marine story is true. I'm posting about it this afternoon if you want the details.
Why do we celebrate Communist China and find Nazi Germany so horrible?
Good question Trestin. The nazi's were rightfully vilified, but you have to remember we defeated them in a war. The victor writes the history books. The Chicoms have not been defeated in any way, and they sell us a lot of cheap shit for our consumeristic society. That and a lot of fools in this country don't really understand the consequences of communism (and socialism).
