Congrats, RG! What a milestone!

I had a great time last night with you and the others. I'm running this later this afternoon.

I am glad you had a great time and be careful running. For now I am limiting my gym activities to 3x a week until I acclimate, then 3 days on, one day off...

I meant I'm running the show later this afternoon. I HATE running.

Thanks for the concern, though. ;-)

Great blog here, RG. Saw you over @ Left Coast Rebel (in comments) & just want you to know I'm linking to you (& using some of what you said) in my next post.

Keep up the good work!

The Right Guy said...

Well, have fun running no matter what it is!

Susannah:
Thanks for your generous comments and support, I appreciate it.

Congrats on your 500th blog! Let the 501st enforce the fraud of global warming.

The Right Guy said...

Well, the 501st went to something else. I'll have to leave it for the 502nd. And for the record, I think they call it climate-gate. The funny thing is, the hysteria is still being pumped out even after the evidence that has been uncovered.

Chuck said...

Funny? It's completely predictable. The club that is the scumbag left believes that truth is whatever comes out of their filthy mouths. Evidence is irrelevant...hell, evidence is racist! And so are you if you subscribe to such nonsense as "evidence", you racist.

Have you know shame? Don't you know that somewhere right now a homeless snail darter is being ass-raped by a white police officer for the sake of Halliburton? Think of the children...especially the ones with color.

The Right Guy said...

As usual Chuck, you are correct, and yes it is predictable. Too bad Bint wasn't in attendance to demonstrate the point.

On a serious note. Not that anyone would care, but my workout consists of 100 push-ups every other day and 100 sit ups every day. I've been doing it for a month and just now starting to get my fallen figure back. I haven't lost any weight, though. Kinda pissed about that. 3 years ago I weighed 190 and had a 32 inch waist and could damn near anything I wanted. Now I'm 212 and can't shake any of it off. Maybe I should start eating laxatives of that new yogurt that Jamie Lee Curtis advertises. hoho
I'm too broken down from years of physical abuse to run. Hell, push-ups hurt my hips, and both of my rotators are shot. Old man at 41. Everybody warned me when I was younger, but I thought I was immortal. I'm still immortal, I just live in mortal pain. heehee

Chuck~ Try cycling. I'm 41 too. Have been a runner since I had to give up soccer after college. However after 3 pregnancies my feet changed & it hurts to run any distance - ugh.

Our YMCA has these FANTASTIC RPM/Spin/cycle classes - great cardio, interval training. No impact - very good for hips/knees & no problem on the rotators. And it's GREAT calorie burn. Give it a shot!

If you want those 6 pack abs, sit-ups help, but diet i the key. You need to up your protein intake and lower your carbs, which would include beer. Shift to a 50-25-25 diet, meaning percentage of protein-carbs-fats. Stay away from foods fried with bad fat. Olive oil is ok. You may need to supplement with protein powder, may be not. Depends on how much you can eat and still lose fat. My guess would to keep the total daily caloric intake to 2000 calories or less. If you want to eat more, hit the treadmill too.

As far as your shoulders go, you probably need some physical therapy. I never had shoulder issues, but at 47, they make noises when I get up in the morning. The best resource I have found for working out is Dave Draper's webstie:http://www.davedraper.com. He used to be a competairve body builder in the time from of Arnold. The guy is amazing for any age. He's a christian too. He was drinking a bottle of vodka a day, and almost died from heart problems. This was in the early 80's. When he got out of the hospital, he picked up the bible and stopped drinking, and hasn't since. No AA, psychologist, or new BS. He's a straight up good guy.

When I was young, I weighed 240 with a 35 inch waist. I am 6'5 though, and I could run 1 minute laps for up to 3 laps. Can't do it anymore as I put on too much weight, and I had surgery to help with that. It's been an experience.

I also forgot to add that Dave had shoulder issues too and has good pointers on how to work with it and around it.

Screw all that jazz. I'll stick with my push up and sit up regimen.

Thanx

You still need to watch what you eat if you want to lose weight and get lean, especially if you want to get under 10% body fat. I want to participate in the Iowa Games next summer in the Strongman competition. In a few months I will add a power lifting routine...
